For the third year in a row, Lafayette is walking away with the "Cleanest City Award".

The Louisiana Garden Club Federation has once again awarded Lafayette with the distinction based on all of the public and citizen work that goes on each year to keep the city clean.

Lafayette City Parish Mayor-President Joel Robideaux along with members of multiple citizen groups are on hand today as the city receives the honor.

The groups that will be represented today are:

  • Lafayette Public Works
  • Staff and Volunteers from the Cleanest City Contest
  • Environmental Quality
  • Lafayette Garden Club
  • Project Front Yard

The award is to be presented to Robideaux at City Hall today by Jean Gilstrap, the Chairperson of the State Cleanest City Contest at 1 p.m.
