Lafayette Homicide Suspect Arrested

The Lafayette Police Department has taken a homicide suspect into custody.

Lafayette Police Corporal Bridgette Dugas told KPEL 28-year-old Nakeea Senegal has been arrested for the homicide that happened in the 1800 block of East Simcoe.

Dugas says the man surrendered peacefully after being found at his Lafayette apartment in the 1900 block of Eraste Landry Road.

Lafayette Police Department officials said in a press release on May 20 that 43-year-old Robert Hebert of Lafayette died after being shot. They found him around 6:40 that evening. A second person was also shot, but that person was taken to a hospital. That person had non-life-threatening injuries.
