Lafayette Named By Expedia as One of ‘America’s Most Artistic Towns’
It's so great to continue to see Lafayette getting recognized nationally for all of its wonderful attributes.
The latest accolade comes from Expedia as they've named the Hub City as one of "America's Most Artistic Towns".
In their second-annual feature to determine the most artistic towns in America, they looked for places "giving large cities a run for their money with creative festivals, top art schools, cutting-edge productions, dynamic street art, and generous community support and patronage."
The cities chosen for this list were all those with populations under one million people.
Lafayette was included along with 10 other cities in the medium range.
So why Lafayette? The travel site mentioned several institutions and events that help to promote our arts.
UL and its School of Music and Performing Arts, ArtWalk, Downtown Lafayette Cultural District, Festival International de Louisiane, Acadiana Center for the Arts, the Lafayette Art Association and more were specifically mentioned in the article as key contributors.
This is just more affirmation that we live in one of the finest cities in America.
