Lafayette Parish School System, Students Raise Nearly $20,000 For Family Of Fallen Officer
The totals are in.
According to our media partners at KATC, the Lafayette Parish School System raised $19,385 for the family of fallen Lafayette Police officer, Corporal Michael Middlebrook.
Middlebrook was killed in the line of duty, leaving behind a wife and a daughter and on Wednesday, the Lafayette Parish School System allowed students around the parish to wear blue and/or jeans for the donation of one dollar towards Middlebrook's family.
To raise nearly $20,000 in one day is an amazing show of support and we thank our local school system and its students for stepping up in such a major way.
