Lafayette Parish Sheriff Investigates Fatal Motorcycle Crash

At approximately 7:00pm Sunday Lafayette Parish Sheriff's deputies were called out to a report of a motorcycle crash in the 700 block of Breaux Road. On arrival deputies found 49-year-old Gerald Cormier of Lafayette failed to negotiate a curve and left the roadway and was ejected from his motorcycle. Cormier was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
