Two Louisiana women are facing jail time and a lot more for their participation in a fundraising project that turned out to be a total fraud. Brooke Thibodeaux of Baton Rouge and Heather Reichert-Jackson of Denham Springs were arrested in Tangipahoa Parish on charges of fraud in connection with a very sick scheme.

The pair went door to door claiming to be members of Trinity Baptist Church in Pumpkin Center who were involved in a fundraising drive for a child stricken with leukemia. It turns out there was no sick child, there was no church fundraising effort, there were only two women trying to fund a heroin addiction.

The revelation about the heroin addiction came to light as the women were questioned by authorities. The women are currently being held in the Tangipahoa Parish jail. At this time no bond had been set.
