You hear each week on the news about doctors saying the nation is having an opioid crisis, but what is being done about this problem locally?

This Wednesday there will be a community tall hall meeting of interested parties, and anyone can attend.

The Knowledge Effect will be presenting, "Lafayette's Opioid Crisis: What are We Doing About It?"

The town hall meeting will be looking into local data about opioid abuse, and the event will feature experts who are dealing with the epidemic here in Lafayette.

A panel consisting of experts from healthcare, law enforcement and criminal justice will be at the event. They will answer any questions the public may have.

The group will also be talking about what they experience each day with the problem, and they will talk about what efforts are being taken to address the problem.

The event will be held at the Victory Addiction Recovery Center this Wednesday.  They are located at 111 Liberty Avenue.
