A student at New Iberia Senior High is being hailed a hero this week after he reportedly saved a teacher's life.

According to KLFY-TV, Delance Green saved his teacher's life this week when she reportedly chocked on a candy.

Green sprung into action when he noticed his teacher choking and he performed the Heimlich maneuver to dislodge the candy.

The teacher who chocked on the peppermint did not want to be identified, but the principal at NISH had publicly thanked Delance for his life-saving actions.
