Officer-Involved Shooting Under Investigation In Abbeville (UPDATED)

UPDATE: The suspect in the officer-involved shooting in Abbeville has been identified. Master Trooper Brooks David says 57-year-old Clyde Burns is accused of firing a gun multiple times - not hitting anyone - before two officers returned fire, shooting him. Burns remains in critical condition at a Lafayette hospital.

A suspect was rushed to the hospital after a shooting with officers in Abbeville. Details about what led up to the shooting are unclear at this point. KPEL started looking into the incident after a news tip came into our newsroom early Sunday evening about a shooting near Bailey and Clover Streets in Abbeville. Louisiana State Police Troop I spokesman, Trooper Brooks David says, no officers were injured in the shooting. The shooting remains under investigation.
