Monday night St. Martin Parish deputies were called to a truck stop on the Evangeline Thruway to investigate suspicious activity. On arrival they were met by 55 year old Joseph Oquinn of Parks who told deputies of a possible bomb he had hidden in the truck stop. Oquinn seemed highly intoxicated, uncooperative and refused to give any information to deputies.

The truck stop was evacuated for a search to be conducted by a bomb dog. A duffel bag believed to belong to Oquinn was found but no bomb was discovered.

Oquinn was charged with terrorizing, disturbing the peace by intoxication, battery on a police officer, resisting a police officer and public intimidation. Oquinn was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.
