Coming up this Monday, November 11, there will be a national holiday to honor the multitude of veterans across our country.

Also on Monday, there will be a celebration to honor our local veterans, and a way in which we can help those veterans who might need some help.

Sarah Roy with Theatre Acadie and Rollen Hines of 2 Navy Vets Foundation have teamed up for an event featuring music, lantern making and a meal for veterans.

The event starts at Parc San Souci at 5:30 Monday evening, and then a procession will be made to Rock 'n Bowl de Lafayette  were the festivities will begin.

While it is free for veterans and children under 12, the event is a fundraiser for local veterans and young people aging out of the foster care system, so it's $20 per person for a night of lanterns, red beans and rice and lots of music.
