The New Orleans Saints made a couple of roster moves on Monday, waiving two defensive players.

The Saints waived defensive end D.J. Pettway and defensive back Jimmy Pruitt, who both spent the entire 2016 season on the injured reserve list.

Pettway, who played his college football at Alabama, was waived with a non-football injury designation, after being placed on the inactive list prior to training camp last year.

Jimmy Pruitt, who signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of San Jose St. last year, was waived with a failed physical designation, after suffering a torn patellar tendon in preseason game last August.

The Saints had to make room on their roster, after signing 12 undrafted free agents, following the 2017 NFL Draft.
