Scott PD Thwarts Pharmacy Burglary
A Baton Rouge man is behind bars after he was arrested at a Scott pharmacy just before he planned to burglarize the business.
Scott Police Chief Chad Leger said 37-year-old Aaron Beyl was reportedly planning on breaking into the Cashway Pharmacy on Cameron Street.
After the police department received reports that Beyl was formulating a plan to burglarize the business, police officers camped out in strategic positions around the business to catch the culprit in action.
Officers were in place as Beyl "blacked out" an exterior surveillance camera at the business. When the suspect returned later, officers moved in and arrested him. Leger said, there was no damage to Cashway Pharmacy and Beyl was arrested without incident.
Beyl was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on the following charges:
- attempted burglary of a business
- tampering with a surveillance system
- illegal carrying of burglary tools
- illegal possession of stolen things
