Shots were fired in the 700 block of Foreman Drive this morning, and because of that two Lafayette Schools have been placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution according to Sergeant Robin Green with the Lafayette Police Department.

While information is limited at this time, we do know that shots were fired and someone initiated a call to the police. Both Lafayette High School and S.J. Montgomery have been placed on lockdown.

Officers are out in full force in the area where the shots were fired in order to investigate exactly what happened this morning.

According to officials with the police department, there have been no injuries reported.
