Social Media Threats Force School Closures In Evangeline Parish
All Evangeline Parish public schools will be closed Tuesday, February 20, 2018, because of threats against schools posted on social media.
Superintendent of Schools Darwin Lazard says, "The safety of our students, staff, and communities is of utmost importance to school board members, my staff, and me."
KATC TV-3 reports that all principals, assistant principals, custodians, and central office personnel are expected to report to work Tuesday morning.
I am told several police, fire, and emergency agencies will meet first thing Tuesday morning to address threats made in the parish.
We will continue to follow this developing story.
Here is one of the several threats that was made via social media.
