Sad news to report as the Stine Home & Yard store in Abbeville will be closing its doors soon.

According to Dennis Stine, President and CEO of the company, the store will be shutting down within the next two months.

"This was a very difficult decision for our family and our corporate team," says Stine. "Family is one of our cover values, and as such, we place special interest in our associates and their families. Because of these values, I made it clear to all associates that they would be retained at our nearby Crowley and Broussard stores, if they wish to transfer."

According to the Abbeville Meridional, the store has struggled over the last eight years due an over-stored market in a challenging economy.

"We are extremely grateful to the community for this nearly 20-year run of serving them here in Abbeville. We will continue to serve the Acadiana region with the same familiar faces from our Crowley and Broussard stores," Stine would go on to say.

Stine has been a Louisiana staple when it comes to home-improvement since beginning in Sulphur back in 1946. They now have 12 locations throughout Louisiana and Mississippi.
