
Suspect Identified In Officer-Involved Shooting In Patterson
25-year-old Marcus White of Patterson faces a slew of charges after he allegedly led an officer with Patterson Police on a car chase while refusing to stop for an alleged speeding violation.
Chief Patrick LaSalle says White crashed his vehicle after the short chase, then ran off with an AR-15 in hand, later allegedly turned the weapon on the officer but was shot before he could fire it.
White suffered non-life threatening injuries. The officer was not injured.
White has been booked into the St. Mary Parish Jail on charges of Attempted First Degree Murder of a Police Officer, Resisting an Officer, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
The investigation continues.
