UL Softball Signs Power Hitter Ashlee Snyder – VIDEO
The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns have added a premier hitter to their 2019 softball roster.
Ashlee Snyder of Salt Lake Community College, one of the premier hitters in the junior college ranks, is joining the team, as announced by head coach Gerry Glasco on Tuesday.
A native of Lakewood, California, Snyder hit a .531, to go along with with 34 home runs and 121 runs batted in.
For her efforts, Snyder was named the NJCAA Region 18 Player of the Year and the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Year, is expected to add All-American honors to her list of 2018 accolades.
In two seasons at SLCC, Snyder hit 52 homers, to go along with 189 RBI's while striking out only three times.
Snyder, who will have two seasons of eligibility remaining, brings a much needed power bat to the program.
As a team last season, Louisiana homered only 23 times, so Snyder can help immediately.
A corner-infielder/designated player, Snyder attended SLCC after committing to Tennessee out of high school.
Should Snyder be named a JUCO All-American, as expected, she'd become the second in as many years that Glasco has signed, joining infielder Brittany Holland, who signed with the Cajuns in January.
