What is the most unbreakable single game Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball record?

Well, there are a number of impressive single game records to choose from.

Brooke Mitchell set a single game school record, striking out 22 batters against Nevada in 2004.

Three UL players came to the plate 8 times against Northwestern St. back in 1992. That's extremely unlikely to ever happen again.

Just this season, Summer Ellyson set a new school single game record, recording 20 strikeouts in a 7-inning game. Understand, the only way that record can ever be broken is if some other pitcher comes along and records every out in a 7-inning contest by striking out the batter.

Those will all be pretty hard to surpass, but I have to narrow the list down to two, and I have two others yet on the list.

The first record is the one set by Tiffany Whittall back in 1995, when she drove in 11 runs against Samford.

That is not only a school record, but an NCAA record.

Think about it; you can go 4-for-4, with two grand slam homers, along with two more RBI's, and still fall one short.

The chances of anybody breaking that record, especially the team mark, are extremely slim.

My pick, however, is going to be the single game school record that Kyla Hall set on April 9, 1992, when she pitched all 21 innings inside of the circle, despite the Cajuns actually losing that extremely long contest.

We're probably not going to see another 21-inning game again. And if we do, the odds of a pitcher tossing 21 innings are slim and none.

A pitcher going 21 innings in a single game; that's amazing!

There are a few school records that will be hard to eclipse, but I think Hall's 21 innings pitched is the most likely to stay in the record books forever.
