If you have palm trees in your yard they may be looking a little brown these days after the winter we had in south Louisiana.

Our media partner KATC-TV 3 interviewed someone who owns a nursery and he gave some good advice what to do and what NOT to do to your palms as Spring approaches.

The number one thing he said NOT to do now is fertilize the tree or plant. You want to wait to do that during the mid-summer months.

Also, if your palms have any green on them these days, DO NOT cut the leaves or branches. They may have actually survived the freezing temperatures.

This is good to know as many of us will soon start the clean up process in the our yard. If you're palms look "dead" these days, cross your fingers and hope that they begin to show life by mid-summer.
