The second half of the 2017 high school football season begins tonight, with 3 local games schedule, kicking off week 6 of action.

Cecilia will be on the road to take on Opelousas in the District 5-4A opener for both schools.

Cecilia is only 1-4, but has played a difficult schedule, with all of their opponents currently having winning records.

On the other hand, Opelousas has surprised many, currently sitting at 4-1, including wins in their last four contests.

In a District 5-3A battle, Mamou will play host to Pine Prairie.

Mamou is currently 1-4, overall, including a 1-1 district mark, while Pine Prairie will enter at 2-3, and 1-1, respectively.

Finally, in a District 6-2A affair, Ville Platte will be on the road to face Kinder, in the district opener for both schools.

Ville Platte will be looking to get back to .500, as they currently stand at 2-3, while Kinder is one game over the .500 mark, at 3-2.
