It was a magical night in Conway, SC for quarterback Levi Lewis and a really great team win as they dominated Coastal Carolina 48-7 for their seventh victory of the season.

It was really the game that everyone was waiting for the Cajuns to play, a complete game from start to finish.

As mentioned, Levi Lewis was extremely impressive in this one as he threw for 296 yards on 26/30 passing, three touchdowns, no interceptions, and rushed for a score as well. He also spread the wealth connecting with 12 different wide receivers on the evening before giving way to Jai'ave Magalei near the end of the third quarter.

Variety was the spice of the game for the Louisiana pass-catchers in this one as well as 14 different Cajuns caught passes Thursday evening.

The running game wasn't as dynamic as we've seen but they simply didn't have to be. Chris Smith led the team in rushing with eight carries and 99 yards including a 52-yard touchdown. Trey Ragas returned this week as well and he wasn't quite himself but he found his way into the end-zone too.

Louisiana would score in every single quarter in this one and would lead wire to wire.

The defense was stout and would have pitched a shutout if it weren't for a late 44-yard touchdown strike from Fred Payton to Sam Denmark for their only points on the night. Andre Johnson led the way in tackles with seven and coach Billy Napier also mentioned that Ja'Quane Nelson played extremely well too.

With the win, the Cajuns improved to 7-2 on the season and 4-1 in the Sun Belt Conference.

Coming up next, the team will travel for the final time during the regular season as they head for South Alabama next Saturday, November 16 with a kickoff time scheduled for 4 p.m.
