‘Condom Snorting’ Is The Latest Dumb (And Dangerous) Challenge Amongst Teenagers
There is a new 'challenge' amongst teens and it is being described as 'every parent's nightmare.'
It's called the "condom snorting challenge" and apparently it's all the rage amongst teenagers right now. I can't believe I'm about to explain this to you, but here goes nothing.
Multiple videos show teens putting an unwrapped condom up one of their nostrils and inhaling until the condom comes out of their mouth. If this doesn't sound "new" to you, it's because this challenge has been around for years, but lately has bounced back on social media and is spreading like wildfire.
We've seen other challenges ranging from the "cinnamon challenge," to the recent "Tide-Pod challenge" that resulted in nearly 150 reported incidents back in January. The problem with these "challenges" is the danger that comes with teenagers who are hungry for likes, views, shares, and subscribers.
One would think that no explanation would be necessary when it comes to why it's not a good idea to put a condom up your nose, but here we are. For those who may think this is harmless fun, or believe that "kids will be kids," doctors warn of serious consequences that may come with the "condom challenge."
The inner lining of the human nose is very sensitive, and anything outside of prescribed nasal sprays runs a great risk of doing major damage. In addition to damaging the inner lining of your nose, there is also the possibility of an allergic reaction or even worse—an infection.
Or you could literally choke if the condom gets stuck in your nasal cavity.
Long story short, the "condom challenge" is stupid. Now, make this go viral.
