LSU Granted Permission To Talk To Ohio State Quarterback
The LSU football program is known for a lot of great players. Surprisingly for a program that has had as much success as the Tigers have had a quarterback is not a position the program is known for. As the Tigers look forward to the 2018 season that position still has yet to be solidified.
LSU Coach Ed Orgeron mentioned earlier this year that the Tigers had an open scholarship and they might use that scholarship on finding another quarterback. Could LSU be looking to Ohio State for their next signal caller?
Joe Burrow is a graduate transfer student that has seen playing time at Ohio State. His on-field time has been limited because of injury and because of Buckeye standout J.T. Barrett. LSU has reportedly requested and received permission to speak to Burrow about continuing his college football career in Baton Rouge.
Burrow would have two years of eligibility left to play college ball. He was a freshman redshirt and played very little the past two years. He was recently passed on the depth chart at Ohio State after a hand injury.
The fact that LSU is even considering speaking to Burrow could be an indicator of just how little confidence the Tigers have in current quarterbacks Justin McMillan,Myles Brennan, and Lowel Narcisse. All three of those players are considered to be in the running for the starting quarterback job in 2018.
