Moon Griffon Celebrates 20 Years On KPEL!

On October 5, 1998, The Moon Griffon Show premiered on KPEL News in Acadiana. It came 5 years after Moon Griffon started broadcasting his show from a studio in Monroe, Louisiana when he lived at the time. We marked the anniversary on air today.

Four years ago, a decision to enroll his daughter in the Options Program at St. Thomas More High School lined up perfectly with the plans of Townsquare Lafayette General Manager Mike Grimsley. He wanted to open the KPEL studios in Lafayette for Moon to broadcast from every day. He accepted and the rest is history. The show has grown by leaps and bounds in Acadiana and Moon continues to connect with and tell the stories of people here.
