Savannah Bananas’ Outrageous Louisiana Waiting List for Alex Box
The Savannah Bananas are bringing their incredibly entertaining "Banana Ball" style of baseball to Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge March 14-16, 2024.
The Savannah Bananas are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Savannah, Georgia, USA.
The team was founded in 2016 and quickly gained attention for their unconventional and entertaining approach to baseball.
Known for their emphasis on fan engagement and creating a unique and enjoyable experience for spectators, The Savannah Bananas' games often feature wacky promotions, lively entertainment between innings, and a festive atmosphere.
Alex Box Stadium holds 10,000 people, but apparently, there are more than 10 times that many people trying to get tickets.
From WBRZ.com -
"More than 142,000 people entered the ticket lottery, hoping for a chance to catch one of three appearances in March at Alex Box Stadium.
Capacity at Alex Box is slightly more than 10,000 spectators, so only a fraction of those who submitted their names will be able to attend."
That's right, there are 142,000 people entered into the lottery hoping to get tickets to see The Savannah Bananas.
In theory, only a lucky 30,000 will get tickets.
The Savannah Bananas play their own style of baseball they call "Banana Ball" which they boast is the "fastest and most entertaining game of baseball."
Below are just a few points of pride from The Savannah Bananas via thesavannahbananas.com -
We are the only baseball team to play in kilts. That’s right, kilts.
Our hitters walk ups are legendary. Bananas may be escorted to the plate by the Banana Pep Band, walk down the yellow carpet wearing the finest Dolce and Banana, or they may even introduce themselves.
We are known for our epic scoring celebrations. From running through the crowd to performing fully choreographed country line dances. When we score, you never know what will happen next.
We have the World’s Tallest Hitter and Pitcher with Dakota “Stilts” Albritton who stands 10 feet tall.
