Here's a first; a gorilla diving onto the court during an NBA game.

Okay, so it wasn't a real gorilla. It was the mascot for the Phoenix Suns.

Still, when was the last time you saw a mascot, whether it be a gorilla, alligator, chicken, or anything else just dive right onto the field of play during actual play?

It's been that kind of year for the Suns.

They have the third-worst record in the NBA, at 21-43, and things have gotten so bad that during Tuesday night's 131-127 home loss to the Washington Wizards the Phoenix Suns Gorilla dove right onto the floor during play, trying to distract the Wizards, just like the devious Skandor Akbar used to do when he oversaw Devastation Incorporated.

Actually, if you look at it real closely, the mascot dove onto the floor to retrieve some sort of object that found its way onto the court.

If that's the case, you have to love the hustle and all-out effort by the Phoenix Suns Gorilla!

Still, this is funny. I mean, you just don't see mascots just diving onto the field/court/ice during an athletic event, while play is going on. And the reaction of Bojan Bogdanovic is priceless. He did a double take while looking back, almost like "wait, is that a gorilla?!?!?"
