Acadiana is bracing itself for potentially some strong storms that are heading this way and a handful of school parishes have announced early dismissal for Tuesday.

Severe weather, including strong winds, is expected to roll through Acadiana on Wednesday afternoon.

As a result of the potential for heavy rains, some Acadiana parishes have decided to close schools on Tuesday, September 14.

There are some more school closures that are happening today according to officials with the Diocese of Lafayette.
