A former Louisiana Ragin' Cajun baseball star is just one step away from playing Major League Baseball.

Shortstop Blake Trahan, who played for the Cajuns for three seasons, from 2013-2015, began the 2018 season in Louisville, the Triple-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds.

A native of Kinder, La., Trahan, the 2015 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, has collected 6 hits over his first 31 at-bats of the season.

A 3rd-round draft choice of the Reds in 2015, Trahan has hit a .249, to go along with 7 home runs, 90 runs batted in, and 47 stolen bases over four seasons in the minor leagues.

Trahan's former teammate, pitcher Austin Robichaux, who appeared in three Triple-A games for the Los Angeles Angels organization last season, hasn't pitched yet in 2018.

We wish Blake and Austin the best of luck in their quest to make it to the Big League!
