The farm owned by Anne and Ben Blanchet in Meaux, Brookshire Farm, is a farm that follows a holistic approach when it comes to management of the cattle there.

The farm's manager Bob Blanchet spoke with "Acadiana's Morning News" this morning to talk about an upcoming guest speaker event this Friday who can help you find out more about the topic.

Brookshire Farm follows the approach of Ian Mitchell-Innes to holistic cattle management. Mitchell-Innes is being brought to the farm this Friday in cooperation with the Louisiana Grazing Lands Coalition to teach others about the benefit to this kind of strategy when it comes to cattle grazing.

The seminar starts at 9 a.m. this Friday morning. It includes a lunch of the Brookshire Farms meat, and it will conclude at 5 o'clock in the evening after a pasture walk.

Registration is $100, and Mitchell-Innes will detail how he used these techniques to drastically increase the amount of cattle on his family's farm.

You can click here to find out how to register, or you can call Brookshire Farms at 337-654-2574.
