A pilot and four passengers, all from Lafayette and St. Martinville have thankfully survived a plane crash in Orange Beach, Alabama yesterday morning.

KATC reports Orange Beach police say four are from Lafayette, and one person is from St. Martinville.

The plane went down yesterday morning, July 7th at 9:22 a.m in a heavily wooded area.

The plane was Piper Seneca twin-engine.

"First responders located the pilot and passengers walking in the woods. 

A spokesperson with the police department says all were okay with the exception of some minor scrapes and bruises. 

The cause of the crash is unclear at this time."

The names of the pilot and passengers haven't been released yet.
