The New Orleans Saints open their 2017 regular season schedule on Monday evening, when they travel to Minneapolis, Minnesota to take on the Minnesota Vikings in a match-up of NFC foes.

Kickoff time at U.S. Bank Stadium is scheduled for 6:10 pm, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420, as well as 97.3 The Dawg.

Minnesota leads the all-time series, 20-11, but New Orleans has won the last four meetings, including a 20-9 win back in 2014, the last time the two franchises met.

New Orleans hasn't won on opening week since 2013, when they defeated the Atlanta Falcons, 23-17

The Saints finished 7-9 last season, their third-consecutive such season, while the Vikings went 8-8.

Offensively, last season, the Saints averaged 29.3 points-per-game, along with 426.0 total yards, which led the league, including 317.1 passing yards, and 108.9 rushing yards-per-game.

New Orleans is led by quarterback Drew Brees, who threw for 5,208 yards and 37 touchdowns last year, along with running back Mark Ingram, who rushed for 1,043 yards and 6 touchdowns, and receiver Michael Thomas, who caught 92 passes for 1,137 yards and 9 touchdowns.

The Vikings, averaged 20.4 points, 315.1 total yards, 239.8 passing yards, and 75.3 rushing yards a game last season.

Minnesota is paced by quarterback Sam Bradford, who threw for 3,877 yards and 20 touchdowns last year, along with receiver Stefon Diggs, who caught 84 pases for 903 yards and 3 touchdowns, and running back Jerick McKinnon, who rushed for 539 and two scores.

Defensively, the Saints gave up an average of 375.4 yards-per-game in 2016, including 273.8 passing yards and 101.6 rushing yards, while the Vikings allowed 314.9 total yards, including 207.9 passing yards and 106.9 rushing yards.
