The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office has asked the Louisiana State Police to investigate an officer involved shooting that happened in Sulphur last night.

State Police reports that the Sheriff's Office were called out to a home on Patton Street to deal with a burglary in progress.

The Sheriff's deputy told authorities that he told 45-year-old David Scott Rozas to drop the gun he was carrying during this burglary, but the man refused to drop it.

The deputy says he then shot Rozas, and Rozas has a non-life threatening injuries that were treated at a hopsital.

All of this began at around 7:55 yesterday evening when the Calcasieu Sheriff's Office was called out to investigate the possible burglary.
