You never truly know who or what you may come across while in New Orleans.

One of my favorite Instagram accounts to follow is "The New Orleans Lifestyle" because they document so many great things from around the city.

Just recently they posted a video of various animals they saw while strolling through the French Quarter.

Like you, I too have seen my share of "Weird things" while walking the streets of New Orleans, but I cannot recall ever seeing a rabbit and opossum in a basket of a bike.

In addition to that, they saw birds, goats and even a lamb taking a walk down a sidewalk in NOLA.

One thing that did catch my attention in their video was a huge snake seen slithering on the road as people walked past it. Is that not dangerous?

After watching this video two or three times, I am now inclined to make a visit to New Orleans just to see if I can come across any of these animals.

Yes, the streets at times can look like a petting zoo, but be ready to pay up if you wish to take a photo with most of these "attractions".

LOOK: Here are the pets banned in each state

Because the regulation of exotic animals is left to states, some organizations, including The Humane Society of the United States, advocate for federal, standardized legislation that would ban owning large cats, bears, primates, and large poisonous snakes as pets.

Read on to see which pets are banned in your home state, as well as across the nation.
