The Allen Parish Sheriff's Department has responded to what is being called a "possible threat of violence" at Kinder Middle School. According to a post on the Allen Parish Sheriff's Department Facebook page.

This afternoon we were asked by the Kinder Police Department assist in the investigation of a possible threat of violence made by a Kinder Middle School student.

The Sheriff's department arranged for deputies to go to the child's home and perform a search. In that search, no weapons were found.

The Allen Parish School Board notified the parents that the child would not be permitted to return to class until the investigation was completed. Once the investigation has been completed a determination of what the next steps for the child's return to school will be.

Members of the Kinder Police Department and the Allen Parish Sheriff's Department will be on campus this morning when classes begin. They will be on hand in part to offer peace of mind to students and parents and to make sure the child does not come to school.

Parents who have question or concerns should reach out to their school board representative or the administration of Kinder Middle School.
